Hinds’ Feet on High Places and Mountains of Spices by Hannah Hurnard – reviewed 6-22-10

A great allegory about how God leads us through pain, suffering and hard times to make us into the people He wants.
The thing I didn’t like is, much like The Pilgrim’s Progress, it’s too literal with names of characters and events to paint the metaphor. I’m more of a fan of story that is a complete story in its own right and makes you work a little to discover the allegory (i.e. The Chronicles of Narnia)
That said I think this book can really help people see the reason for trials in life and to persevere through them.
